1.5mM MgCl2 (Final)
500 Reactions/Unit
Brand: Apex Bioresearch Products- Apex Hot Start Master Mix, Blue, 1.5mM MgCl2 (Final Conc.) with Ammonium Buffer that promotes robust amplification, high yield and high specificity
- Optimized Mix - just add template, primers and water, and conveniently set up reactions at room temperature
- Includes chemically modified hot start version of Apex Taq DNA Polymerase - promotes increased sensitivity, specificity and product yield
- Diminishes the formation of non-specific priming events - suitable for low abundance targets, screening, GC-rich, multiplex and direct colony PCR
- Reliably processes up to 5kb with high product yield, exhibits 5' to 3 exonuclease activity and leaves a 3'dA overhang
- Same as clear version, but with an inert blue dye and stabilizer that allows direct-to-gel analysis after amplification and easy pipetting
- Dye front runs at 100-500 bp (0.5 -1.5 % agarose gel). PCR products can be used for sequencing after PCR Clean-up
- Multiple 1.25ml aliquot packaging prevent repetitive freeze-thaw cycles - mix is stable refrigerated (4ºC) for at least 6 months without risk

Apex Hot Start Master Mix BLUE is a ready-to-use 2.0X master mix. Simply add primers, template, and water to successfully carry out primer extensions and other molecular biology applications. Apex Hot Start DNA Polymerase is a modified form of Taq DNA Polymerase, which is activated by heat treatment. A chemical moiety is attached to the enzyme at the active site, which renders the enzyme inactive at room temperature. Apex Hot Start DNA Polymerase, ammonium buffer system, dNTPs and magnesium chloride are present in Apex Hot Start Master Mix with Apex Buffer I. Each reaction requires 25ul of the 2.0X reaction mix.
For most standard applications Master Mix BLUE based on Ammonium Buffer I is the best option. It promotes robust amplification, high yield and high specificity. In certain cases Master Mix BLUE with Buffer II is the best option.

Yes, when left at room temperature (21 - 25°C) (up to 77°F) it is stable at least 2 months with no loss of activity.
Since polymerase activity is inhibited at room temperature, the high temperatures achieved during PCR cycling will activate the polymerase which will reduce non-specific amplification and result in a higher degree of specificity. A hot start enzyme is also recommended for high-thoughput applications.
The number of reactions is based on using 25ul of the master mix for a final reaction volume of 50ul. If desired, the reaction size may be scaled down to a final volume of 20 or 25ul by using 10ul or 12.5ul of the master mix respectively
Yes, the gel needs to be stained with a nucleic acid stain such as ethidium bromide, Apex Safe DNA Stain, GelRed® Nucleic Acid Stain, SYBR Safe DNA Gel Stain, etc.
